Bishop Steven was delighted to be asked to provide a message of support for the England men’s football team by the Oxford Mail.

The Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft, the Bishop of Oxford, will be watching the game and cheering for England as they face Denmark in the semi-finals of the Euro 2020 tournament on Wednesday 7 July.

“Football is a great way to bring the nation together, and also to join with other nations in friendship and good-natured rivalry.

Last Saturday we saw a team that was calm, collected and full of skill and strategy. They are inspirational role models, led by a thoroughly decent manager, and each of them humbled and proud to play for their country. I’ll be cheering them on every moment of the game.”
